NO PAIN KILLERS AT CUBA'S MAIN TRAUMA HOSPITAL CALIXTO GARCIA. EMERGENCY CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED.
GIVE THE GIFT OF A PAIN-FREE LIFE
The Los Angeles Hands-off Cuba Committee, working with the Cuban Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) graduates in Los Angeles, local physicians, Pan-American Medical Association, Not Just Tourists, and Global Health Partners, has launched a special campaign to collect pediatric and general ER medical supplies in Southern California, truck them to Jacksonville, and ship them to CUBA by GHP.
The truck contains 13 large pallets of enormous financial (over $200,000) and humanitarian value, plus 500,000 painkillers (Cuba has none!)
The truck’s cost and fuel are $6.700 plus the shipping container transport to Cuba (covered by GHP).
Several stops with solidarity activities will be organized along the route in Phoenix, Tucson, El Paso, San Antonio, Houston and New Orleans as Pastors for Peace used to do.
You can send the funds to the Pan-American Medical Association link below if you want a tax write-off

Update: First painkiller pills shipment arrived in Cuba. More help is needed.
Students in Prof. Osuna's CA State Long Beach class delivered 15,000 Ibuprofen pills and other medical supplies to the Calixto Garcia hospital in Havana on 3/1/2025.
This is the first of more than 100,000 painkillers to be sent as part of the emergency campaign by Not Just Tourists, Global Health Partners, ELAM graduates, and the LA Hands-Off Cuba committee.
The campaign includes a massive truck shipment to New Orleans and then by ship to Cuba in late January.
We concluded an inventory and packing of $200,000 in medical supplies for the truck, yet are accepting more high-quality donations.
DONATIONS are still needed to purchase and send more painkillers---to a country with none!
Pan-American Medical Association. Tax receipt available.

Bringing Vital Medical Supplies to Cuba
Bringing Vital Medical Supplies to Cuba
We are thrilled to announce the first shipment of over $517,000 worth of critical medical aid, including half a million painkillers, has been successfully shipped to Cuba. This vital shipment is just the beginning of our ongoing mission to provide essential medical supplies to those in need.
This campaign has been an extraordinary effort, hundreds of dedicated individuals from across the nation contributing both financially and physically. As our truck, laden with 13 pallets (4x4x7), journeyed across the country, we held meetings in several cities to raise funds and garner support. These meetings have not only generated much-needed resources but also sparked the formation of new committees dedicated to continuing this crucial work.
The organizations behind this campaign--Global Health Partners, Not Just Tourists, Dr. Uriel Ramirez (ELAM graduate- Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba), and other compassionate doctors, Pan-American Medical Association, Puentes de Amor, LA Hands-Off Cuba Committee (and its affiliates nationwide), Health Care for US, Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace (ICUJP) and Operation Rainbow—are committed to seeing this through. Our goal is to send another massive shipment in late Spring, and we cannot do it without your help.
We need your support to make this possible. Please share this appeal with your organization, union, friends, and anyone who can contribute. Every dollar counts, and your generosity will make a tangible difference in the lives of those who are most underserved.
